RUUSK Ring Showings
I'm so thrilled to say that RUUSK's first ever ring Showing was absolutely wonderful. Hosted at Babushka Ballerina's beautiful boutique in Paddington, I couldn't have wished for a more perfect setting or a more beautiful day. It was such a pleasure meeting so many wonderful clients and couples and to be able to chat rings with them. View the BTS photos captured by the beautiful Laura Marii from Scarlet and Sage.

Learn moreBy the light of the moon
Exactly 4 months ago today, I was taken on an incredible adventure, consisting of secret love letters, beautiful blooms, candle lit paths and a seaside gumball machine. Haha definitely not your typical proposal story! In true Nick style, he went above and beyond to create a magical evening I'll treasure for a lifetime. You can read the full proposal story here, but today I'm thrilled to say that I finally finished my ring. Designing my own engagement ring has definitely been the most challenging project I've worked on so far. With so many options and free rein, it was so difficult to decide what kind of piece I wanted to create. After a lot of deliberation I realised that whatever I created needed to be linked to our story. I wanted to design a piece that was truly unique to Nick and I, and so, inspired by the magical full moon that lit up my ocean proposal, I created two rings to represent the moon and it's reflection on the waves below. I hand carved each ring, cast them in Australian gold and set them with beautiful clear diamonds. They are perfectly imperfect, as we all are, and they are a constant reminder of the love that went into making them and the magic that was the evening that Nick proposed. In love and further inspired by this line from a children's poem Nick taught me, my ring will be the moon and his soft brushed wedding band will be the sand. "hand in hand, at the edge of the sand, they danced by the light of the moon" Would you like to have a modern heirloom designed and made just for you?Enquire about a commission HERE
Learn moreLucy's Wedding band
My strong desire to create meaningful and long lasting pieces means I have a particular soft spot for making wedding and engagement rings. When I get approached to make these special pieces, I'm always extremely honoured and when it's someone I know and Iove, it's hard not to feel completely blown away with joy. Lucy's wedding band was definitely no exception. I'll never forget the look on her face when I finally showed her the finished ring. She was absolutely glowing! Lucy and I met years ago on my first day at my new high school. I'll never forget meeting Lucy for the first time, she was such a beam of light and I knew immediately that we were going to be friends. It's incredible to think that 11 years later I'd be sitting in my studio carving her wedding band. Designed to fit and match her gorgeous engagement ring, her custom wedding band was cast in 14ct White Australian gold and set with 13 little diamonds. I absolutely loved seeing her ring come to life and now that it's finished I can't wait to see her exchange her vows and marry the wonderful man she loves. Congratulations beautiful girl, can't wait to celebrate some more with you x
Learn moreThe Story of RUUSK
Getting in front of the camera can always be a little nerve-wracking, even more so when you're being filmed for the first time! So, it's fair to say, I was a little nervous before the big day. Luckily, with my darling friend Laura Marii behind the camera, the nerves soon settled and we pretty much laughed the day away! I'm absolutely thrilled to have her working on this project with me. It feels amazing to know that the video is now well underway and that soon I'll be able to share a little bit of my story, philosophy and life/design experiences with you. Whilst Laura works on creating some amazing video magic, she's surprised me with some candid photos from the day to share with you. Lau you are such a superstar! Hopefully these beautiful images will give you a little feel for what's to come, and a first glance into my RUUSK world. Video is coming soon... x Photos by Laura Marii

Learn moreA time of change
Almost exactly a month since Nick & I got engaged, another big change is about to occur. At midnight tonight, I'll be saying goodbye to RUUSK's previous collections and instead I'll be taking a leap of faith and officially embarking on my new venture RUUSK RINGS. Although RUUSK RINGS will feel familiar in style and design, in reality it will very much be like starting a new business as I shift towards creating a platform where you'll be able to customise your ring online. I want to give you the opportunity to have something special made just for you, in your size, in your chosen metal and finish and even personalised with diamonds should you wish. Each piece will be made especially for you, being hand touched and loved throughout it's entire process of creation. This is something that I am extremely passionate about and I am absolutely thrilled to be that little bit closer to creating these unique pieces for you. I believe in making pieces to be treasured and loved for many lifetimes, pieces you can live in and one day pass onto your children. There is nothing more magical than creating a piece that becomes an extension of you. So, with 101 things still on my to-do list, it's very exciting to finally give myself the time to focus on this wholeheartedly which is why I'll be temporarily closing the online store whilst I perfect the new range for you. Thank you so much for following me on this journey - life is full of wonderful adventures but it's much more fun when you know there are people with you along the way. More to come soon, but to get you a little excited, here are some of the gorgeous images from an Editorial by Peter Van Alphen featuring some of RUUSK's new rings... Learn moreProposing to a jewellery designer
Well I definitely never thought I'd be starting this journal with my own proposal story, then again I also never thought the my engagement ring would come from a Gumball machine! Yet for some reason, that magical moment, under the moon and by the sea, felt almost familiar to me. Just like that, with one little question, a new wonderful chapter of my life began. But let me start at the beginning. It was March 12th and I thought it was going to be a normal Sunday afternoon. I was surprised to see my friend Lucy looking for me on the streets of Surry Hills and even more surprised when she handed me a letter. Intrigued I read the little handwritten note from Nick saying sorry for changing our afternoon plans but that I was instead about to embark on an adventure he had planned for me. Like a giddy school girl, I ran back home to where my first clue was waiting for me. A beautiful bunch of native flowers, another handwritten letter and a gorgeous new dress were carefully laid out for me on the bed. I quickly got changed into my new lace outfit just in time for an elegant driver to appear at the door ready to take me to my next clue and secret destination.I jumped in the car and was taken to be pampered! An hour or so later, hair and makeup done and after a few sneaky sips of champagne, I was picked up again and handed a final letter by the driver... "Don't be nervous my love, I'll see you soon" it read.As soon as I realised we were driving down to the sea I knew immediately that I was about to experience one of the most beautiful and important moments of my life. I stepped out of the car and was handed a tiny note - "follow the candles"Little flames danced in the wind as they illuminated my path towards the waves. There, under the moonlight I saw Nick, waiting with his arms open for me to arrive. Exactly one year ago we had visited this exact spot on our first date. I can still remember how fascinating I found him, who would have known, that a year later we'd be sharing this moment. As I told Nick early on in our relationship never to buy me jewellery, he decided to get creative with his proposal and handed me a small ring box with a one dollar coin. "I'd like you to design your ring but in the meantime we need a placeholder... so if you wouldn't mind" He said, indicating the Gumball machine. I laughed and took the coin and placed it in the slot. "What if a Gumball comes out?" I said just before turning "I guess we'll find out" Nick replied. A with a simple click, a pink love heart ring emerged and with that he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Crowds had formed along the cliff and we turned to find people cheering and waving as Nick swung me around in his arms "She said YES" he yelled and the crowed cheered even louder! Haha By the sea and under the moonlight, I couldn't have been happier. Fast forward to a couple of weeks later; we are now sitting in a beautiful room in Byron as I write this story and he plays the Guitar at the end of the bed. Life is beyond wonderful. So there you have it, the brief retelling of a creative's proposal to a jewellery designer haha and with the ring design still to come I simply can't wait to share the making of my own engagement ring with you! Sketches will be coming soon...x
