Salt and pepper diamonds incorporate a mix of many black and white inclusions, giving this gemstone a mysterious, smoky, wild and raw aesthetic. No two are ever the same and each salt and pepper diamond is celebrated for their inclusions that make them so unique.

Inclusions are small imperfections found inside diamonds, but with highly graded clear diamonds these inclusions are so small that they cannot be seen by the naked eye. With salt and pepper diamonds, these inclusions are prevalent and celebrated, often giving the stone its really strong speckled appearance. While some can be dark and moody, others can be a lighter tone with just a few specks. Many believe the imperfections found in salt and pepper diamonds provide a sentimental metaphor for marriage; love encompassing all, including your 'imperfections' that make you unique.

Like all natural diamonds, these speckled gems were formed below the Earth’s surface billions of years ago, however, salt and pepper diamonds require far less resources and time to mine than a clear diamond, making them more environmentally friendly. In fact, one of the reasons salt and pepper diamonds are so desirable is because of their more eco-friendly properties.
